Do You Want to Be an Artisan of Fashion?

The Department of Culture and Heritage of the Consell Insular de Mallorca, through the Island Directorate of Craftsmanship — which holds exclusive competence in artisanal matters — regulates the Artisan Fashion of Mallorca guarantee mark.

The mark aims to promote and protect artisan production in the fashion sector in Mallorca, reinforcing quality, origin and authenticity, and guaranteeing differentiation from industrial or foreign products. It also seeks to consolidate the cultural identity of Mallorca and activate the sustainable development of the sector.

The Brand's Cornerstone: Its Own Visual Identity

The Artisan Fashion of Mallorca mark aims to value and protect textile products and manufacturing, jewellery and artisan fashion accessories with a character and identity that give them a distinct quality unique to our island.

The brands regulations place special emphasis on the identification of a distinctive visual identity and the preservation of authenticity and artisanal quality.

Other Requirements

Physical or legal entities wishing to use the Artisan Fashion of Mallorca brand mark must meet, among others, the following requirements:

  • Hold a valid Artisan Certificate (CA), Master Artisan Certificate (CMA) or Artisan Qualification Document (DQA), issued by the Consell Insular de Mallorca.
  • Carry out production predominantly in Mallorca, ensuring that at least 75% of the production process, including design, takes place on the island.
  • Produce goods under their own name or a brand of their ownership.
  • Produce goods that meet the quality and authenticity standards specified in these
    regulations.
  • Have a visitable space: artisans must have a workshop or shop that can be visited, as a necessary measure to contextualise the artisan and their product, and to improve the promotion of craftsmanship.
